Innovative Cloud-Based Surveillance Network Solution: A Step Towards a Safer Future

The current geopolitical situation and growing security challenges on a global scale highlight the need to strengthen surveillance and protection systems in the European Union. Effective monitoring and assessment of potential risks is becoming a key factor in ensuring the safety of citizens and critical infrastructure. In this context, the development of advanced technologies that can identify and assess potential threats in a timely manner is of particular importance.

In the context of these challenges, we present a significant research project aimed at developing an advanced cloud-based solution for remote control of stationary measurement gateways (SMBs). This innovative system not only increases our ability to monitor and assess potential risks, but also brings a revolutionary approach to the management and coordination of measurement equipment. The project places particular emphasis on remote detector calibration and energy stabilization of spectra via a cloud environment, thereby significantly contributing to building a more robust security infrastructure.

Key Research Areas

The core of the project is the development of a deconvolution algorithm that enables the conversion of physical spectra into their original incident spectra. This sophisticated tool is the cornerstone for precise measurements and analyses. A significant part of our research is also devoted to the identification of radionuclides from incident spectra, which increases the reliability and accuracy of measurements.

Another important area is research into natural background correction methods, which aims to eliminate the effect of self-shadowing of the measured object. Thanks to these innovations, we can ensure significantly more accurate measurements and more reliable results.

Next-generation cloud infrastructure

A significant innovation is the implementation of a cloud solution that allows remote control of client stations, their calibration and stabilization. The system also includes advanced functions for real-time recognition of measured objects, including vehicle identification. All data is centralized in a modern database that ensures efficient management and access to information.

Integrated database and advanced cybersecurity

For efficient data management, we are developing a central monitoring network database that ensures comprehensive organization of all measurements and results. We pay special attention to the cybersecurity of the entire system. Our research focuses on developing cutting-edge protection mechanisms for all system components – from data processing algorithms to digital response matrices.

An innovative element is the transfer of all critical operations from local stations to the cloud environment. Spectra processing, use of calibration matrices and other key operations are implemented exclusively as distributed cloud services. This approach, combined with the use of advanced cryptographic methods and public key infrastructure (PKI), ensures the highest possible level of protection. The developed security solution protects not only the data itself, but also the know-how and intellectual property associated with the operation of the system.

Comprehensive services for clients

The project brings a wide range of services, from spectrometric measurements and technical support to marketing tools. Clients gain access to professional measurements, certified results and a user-friendly web interface for managing their requirements.
